Mobile phones have compelled every activity on the internet to bow down before its might. Like Responsive Websites, M-commerce has caused every web designer/developer focused on creating e-commerce websites especially for smartphones/ tablets. You may wonder is it  advisable? Well the statistics are irrefutable –  InMobi reported  83% mobile users who shop online are likely shop using their phones. Mobile adverts are being accepted by 61% mobile users as easily as online or TV ads.

To understand why m-commerce websites are gaining momentum, lets remember the history of smartphones. Okay I’m not talking about the days of IBM Simon what I’m actually talking about is  this whole revolution of Smartphone application and utility started due to the business rivalry of iOS and Android.   • As InMobi suggests  mobile ads are now generating as much revenue as online or TV ads.
  • InMobi conducted a survey in China, India, France, Germany, Nigeria, Indonesia, Kenya, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand,, South Africa, United Kingdom and the U.S. to get all these findings.
  • It’s astonishing how 48% of the people agreed  their decisions are influenced by mobile advertising.
  • On similar grounds Decision Fuel and OnDevice Research found out  52% have actually bought from mobile ads and 61% have no issues with these ads.
  • A survey of those who said they actually acted upon the adverts showed us:

-78% downloaded the mobile apps

– 68% visited the advertiser’s website

– 56% went to a store for further information

– 44% were able to locate the advertiser

– 43% actually called the advertiser by clicking on the given phone number

The stats have spoken, it is the new gospel of internet marketing and e-commerce. The revolution has begun among the masses to get the best possible deals online, which they, of course will boast off later among friends. They are scavenging websites after websites in order to find the perfect deal where they can get most out of the situation.
